Embrace uncertainty

I’ve just finished reading a very interesting and enlightening book called Dying To Be Me by Anita Moorjani.

Many aspects of the book were fascinating and what stuck out for me as I approached the end of the book is the idea of embracing uncertainty, which she talks about.

The way I see it is that our lives are very uncertain almost all the time; we kid ourselves if we think otherwise… you’ve probably heard of the old adage: “the only thing that’s certain in life is death and taxes!”

So, if our lives are mostly uncertain anyway, instead of stressing and fretting about all those things we have no certainty about, what would happen if we accepted the fact that there is no certainty, because that is the truth, the reality.

If we were able to embrace uncertainty rather than fear it, we would be more relaxed and at ease at all those things that occurred in our lives that we did not expect…

Overall, it would enable us to be more accepting therefore we would be more relaxed, and as a result, less stressed… surely that would be a better place for most of us…
